Undersized Urbanite Contest Submission

Hi and welcome to my final post for the Undersized Urbanite dollhouse contest, hosted by the wonderful Little Victorian blog!

I built a quarter scale house from a kit made by ANI (bought on eBay). Here is how the house started;

The perfect house! In 1/4' scale.

The perfect house! In 1/4′ scale.

The patio.

And here is how it turned out after many hours of blood, sweat and tears, literally, especially the last one. πŸ™‚

Β Here is the exterior;

I originally took pictures in the sun, but felt as though they were too leached out to use for all the pictures, however, some were nice;

I still have my front yellow door that I wanted! and the little grass doormat which greets you with “hello” is one of my favourites. πŸ™‚

You might remember the living room, which has been finished for a while, you will notice that I added a T.V.

To the left of the living room is the bedroom, right through this door….

  1. Great job, it’s so hard to imagine how tiny it all is, even with the dime in there it’s never the same as seeing it up close.

  4. I’m really impressed with the amount of detail you were able to add in such a tiny scale! Blood, sweat and tears, indeed. Nicely done! I especially love the exterior colors πŸ™‚

  5. Amazed at your patience & dexterity to create such tiny interior pieces. Outside I especially love the fresh look created with the blue, gold & white colours…and I can’t believe how gorgeous you made the gardens look. Am so proud that you managed to finish your project, and survive!!

  6. It’s great to see it all finished and get the overall view – well done. I love the garden and the way you’ve made a pretty ordinary house sing with the weather board exterior. Great colour scheme. You’ve done a fantastic job and you got it done in time!

  7. Wow! So tiny yet you managed to put in so much detail. I love the simple yet inviting welcome mat. πŸ˜€ Congrats on a job well done!

  8. I can not imagine how you managed to get soooo much detail into such a tiny space! I am Amazed! You have a very pretty little house and you have finished the exterior with the perfect colors and with the perfect landscaping! Your tiny interior is adorable and it is interesting the inclusion of a big screen t.v., not something you see a lot of in most mini homes! Great work!

  9. Oh how tiny it is, I’m amazed how you were able to take pictures from it yet alone make it. It’s wonderful and you’ve done so much yourself. Marvellous!

  10. This is great! You’ve made a fantastic job with this tiny house! Hannah

  11. Rebecca, I’m sorry I had not commented on this yet. It is absolutely amazing. I would never be able to do something so small. I constantly knocked things over and lost them in mine and it’s 1″! So impressed with your work.

    The hello mat is adorable and the landscaping is such a nice touch. I think the tall ceiling and the bookcase in the living room are my favorite parts.
